18A: Disengagement Commander
- Unconventional Warfare expert. Master planner responsible for advising and leading indigenous and joint forces.

18B: Weapons Sergeant
- Tactical mission leader. Operates and maintains a total range of U.S., Allied, and other foreign weaponry.

18C: Engineer Sergeant
- Expert in all aspects of demolition, structure, and target analysis.

- Trauma medicine specialist. Highly trained in clinical, dental, and veterinary care.

- Technical adept in all ways of communication from encrypted satellite systems to field communications equipment.
Advanced Training Opportunities
Some special detachments consist of:
Military machine Free-Fall (HALO) Teams | Free-Autumn ODAs are trained to high standards in military parachuting, including High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) oxygen-assisted parachute insertion. All members of a MFF ODA volition have gone through Military Gratis-Fall and 2 members of a MFF Team are MFF Jumpmasters. |
Combat Diver/SCUBA Teams | Trained in amphibious infil/exfil, including small boat ops and SCUBA diving. All members of a Combat Diver Team will take passed the SF Diver Q-Grade. |
Mountain Teams | Mount ODAs have been trained in mountaineering and associated disciplines such equally horsemanship and common cold-weather operations. |
Mobility/Mounted Teams | Mounted ODAs specialize in the apply of the Ground Mobility Vehicle (GMV). |
Enlisted Requirements
- You must take a minimum rank of East-3 and must be 20 years quondam at the starting time of Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) with a waiver
- You must not be older than 36 years (waiverable) for SFAS attendance
- You must be eligible for a Underground security clearance
- Yous must be airborne qualified or volunteer for airborne training
- You lot must have no more than fourteen years time in service (E-3 to Eastward-vi)
- You must have no more than than sixteen years time in service and nine months time-in-course when applying for the SFAS course (Eastward-7)
- You must be either Airborne or Ranger qualified (East-7)
- You must take an ASVAB General Technical (GT) score of 100 or higher up
- You must laissez passer a Special Forces physical in accord with AR 40-501
- You must be able to reclassify from your electric current MOS or co-operative
- You must have a minimum of 36 months remaining time in service at the fourth dimension you graduate SFQC
- You lot must not have 30 days or more than lost time under USC 972 inside your current or preceding enlistments
Officeholder Requirements
- Pay grade of O-1(P), O-two, or O-3 and in the targeted year group for the captain's board
- Must have at least a Cloak-and-dagger security clearance prior to last packet approval and meet eligibility criteria for a TOP SECRET clearance
- Must take completed the Officer Basic Course
- Must accept been successful in your branch assignments prior to applying to SF
